De nuevo nos situamos en California. La banda angelina Mystic Braves sigue la herencia de algunas bandas sesenteras como Mamas & The Papas, Zombies,… y entre aquel pop hippie-ñoño y la nueva ola psicodelia-rock de principios de este siglo, nos ha traído un fenomenal single titulado «Velvet Dreams». Disfrutar de lo efímero, el presente y sentirse agradecido del aquí y el ahora. Un tema que si bien la banda lo presentó con un teaser en su instagram hace menos de un mes, ya podemos disfrutarlo en todo tipo de plataformas streaming. Y nosotros, aquí te lo dejamos:
Este «Velvet Dreams» sigue a otro gran single anterior presentado por la banda el pasado año, «Quarantine Dreams», y ambos parece serán parte del inminente nuevo trabajo de la banda norteamericana.
Ambas canciones aluden a esta época de covid, encierro, reflexión y soledad. «This series seemed to really resonate with people, and we’ve seen quite a bit of positive feedback from listeners around the world,» decía uno de los miembros de la banda, Shane Stotsenberg. «The separation of quarantine and the emotions involved in that is something being felt by the indie music community and all of us to some degree. ‘Velvet Dreams’ reminds us all to hold tight to the people and things that we care about, and to treat every moment like it’s our last.«
El líder de la banda, Julian Ducantzeiler, añadía: «When I wrote ‘Velvet Dreams,’ I was feeling isolated and lonely. Time moves so quickly as we get older, and I wanted to mark this moment but also learn from it at the same time. Regardless of the situation, there is always room for positivity and light.«
Así pues, una banda de revival rock sesentero muy a seguir. Positivismo ante todo, amigos.
